Overview

334 Oxford Street, the former Debenhams department store building in London W1.

The new highly sustainable building designed by AHMM will extend the building and create modern retail, leisure and flexible office spaces.

The plans see the reprovision of three floors of retail, the reuse of the existing building’s structure, the introduction of new facades, and three additional storeys for flexible Grade A office space at upper levels with terraces.

Public consultation for the site was launched in May 2021. The plans were approved by Westminster City Council in September 2021.

The 362,921 sq ft building was reconstructed in 2014 using an innovative over-cladding system designed by world-renowned artist and sculptor Ned Kahn in conjunction with Archial Architects creating a captivating interactive façade in keeping with the site's prominent location next to the upgraded Bond Street underground and Crossrail station.

Is there still a Debenhams in Oxford Street?
No, the Debenhams department store on Oxford Street was permanently closed in January 2021.
