Description
66 Chiltern Street is an existing commercial building at the heart of Marylebone. The building was originally constructed in the 1960s and reclad in 1989. It is of poor architectural quality and it detracts from the quality of the surrounding streets.
The proposals aim to enhance the appearance of the building through a conversion to residential. The existing glazed curtain wall facade is replaced with a richly modeled masonry elevation. The top of the building is remodeled to create a roof that balances the elevations below and at the building's base proposed landscaping and active ground floor frontages serve to transform the quality of the public realm.
