Overview
Acton Gardens is a residential development in South Acton, London W3.
A 52-acre comprehensive redevelopment of the former South Acton estate – a £800 million investment that will create 3,463 new mixed-tenure homes.
The development delivers 50% affordable housing and more social rent homes than previously existed on the estate before the project commenced.
The 18-year project is transforming the former South Acton estate with state-of-the-art community facilities and public spaces, including new parks and play areas.
The overall masterplan for Acton Gardens includes a new sports ground; a central plaza with a new supermarket, youth centre and other community facilities; and a proposed new bus route and street network to link the development to the surrounding area.
Each phase of Acton Gardens has been designed by renowned architects delivering their own take on the themes set in the overall Masterplan and urban design which delivers the wider improvements to the area (street layout, street scene, public spaces, and retail and leisure amenity). All of the homes will offer well-designed, flexible living spaces, a high specification finish and private outdoor space, with a range of eco features incorporated.
Phase 7.1, design by architects Stitch Studio, will deliver 246 new homes and include 104 affordable homes and 142 for private sale homes, in a mix of apartments, houses and duplex überhaus™. Completion 2019.

Acton Gardens is located between 5 key rail connections, of which Acton Town (Piccadilly line and District Line) and South Acton overground are on the boundary of the scheme. Also within easy walking distance is Chiswick Park station for the underground and Acton main line station, which will benefit hugely from its inclusion on the Crossrail line, bringing speedy new connections across the capital when it opens.
