History
St Clement's was built in the Italianate style in 1849. The site has had different functions over time - from workhouse to hospital.
2015 - In March 2015 the Mayor of London Boris Johnson gave the project his seal of approval when he unveiled the scheme. He said: “This innovative housing scheme has the local community at the heart of it and is delivering permanently low cost homes and creating jobs. Parts of this historic building will be restored to its former glory so that the community can continue to enjoy this amazing, well-loved site.”
Christie Alamio, sales and marketing director at Linden Homes Eastern said: “We are really excited to bring these homes to Mile End. Once complete we will be proud to have transformed the derelict area into a new neighbourhood of 252 community homes.”
