Description
The Bulgari Hotel & Residences, London is Prime Development's debut project. In fact, Prime Development was founded to create this landmark hotel. With 85 rooms and the eyes of the world upon it, the Bulgari Hotel & Residences is due to open in Spring 2012, in time for the London Olympics.
Before forming to take on this project, the core team at Prime Development were behind the hugely successful Knightsbridge Apartments in the adjacent building. It is already clear from our success at the UK Property Awards 2010 that the current development is set to build dramatically on that previous achievement.
With exceptional views over Hyde Park and the historic Knightsbridge village, the hotel is bounded by Knightsbridge Green to the east, Raphael Street to the south and The Knightsbridge residential scheme to the west. This places the hotel a stone's throw from the V&A Museum, Harrods, Sloane Street and a wealth of other Knightsbridge attractions. Access to Hyde Park, one of Central London's largest and most beautiful green spaces, is literally a few paces from the site via Park Close.
Location and History
One of the world's leading super-prime locations, Knightsbridge draws investors from every corner of the globe. Its desirability has been emphasised by the rapid recovery of the area's property market. The site for The Bulgari Hotel & Residences, London was once home to the Knightsbridge Palace Hotel. Built in 1911, the Knightsbridge Palace was renamed The Normandie Hotel in 1937 which closed its doors 1977 to become holiday let apartments. With the The Bulgari Hotel & Residences, the hotel spirit returns to this prestigious Knightsbridge address.
This project has been made possible in no small part thanks to the obtaining of the existing consents by Prime Development. With those consents in place, the opportunity has been created to develop one of the world's most desirable luxury hotels.
'Constructing a new building in this part of London is an extraordinary achievement because the city tends to be extremely conservative due to its consolidated urban plan.' - Antonio Citterio, founder, Antonio Citterio, Patricia Viel & Partners S.r.l.
