Description
The replacement of this existing 1960s building within the Mayfair Conservation Area will create 67,000 sq ft of high quality office space, 10,000 sq ft of retail and five apartments.
The site is surrounded by listed buildings and the development will apply modern, sustainable building practices within a classic Georgian setting.
The roof and upper storeys of the building will be exposed to potentially long periods of sun, providing excellent opportunities to harness solar power through photovoltaic panels for both the office and residential components. The project is predicted to beat Building Regulations energy efficiency standards by 18 per cent and aims to achieve a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating and a Code for Sustainable Homes Level Four.
Emerging Italian artist Esther Stocker has been commissioned to create a dramatic black and white marble artwork that will be installed on one of the exterior walls of the development.
