Are you planning to buy or rent property in London but don’t know where to start? Perhaps you just want to browse, dream or motivate yourself with those £10m+ houses? We have just downloaded a bunch of free property apps for iPad and are testing them to see which ones are worth keeping.
OnTheMarket both looks and feels great. The design is very user-friendly and we found a total of 444 residential properties for sale in London W2 (chosen purely because Buildington was born here). Launched in 2015, OnTheMarket was created by local estate agents to cut down the marketing costs. The only downside is that commercial properties are not listed yet.
Rightmove app works great and seems to have the most properties listed (based on W2 London search). Lists 836 residential properties for sale and 34 commercial properties for rent in W2.
Zoopla app found 705 residential properties for sale and 20 commercial properties for rent in W2. Find agents, check historical property prices and get answers to all kinds of property related questions.
PrimeLocation app has the same functions as Zoopla. They are both part of Zoopla Property Group.
Knight Frank app has been one of our favourites for quite some time now. The latest market reports and office locations are easy to access here.
Foxtons app is much more than a simple listings app. You can find a lot of detailed information about all London areas. If you are really bored you can discover the properties by browsing images by room.
Savills is, unfortunately, shutting down its apps at the end of 2015.
CBRE app – Contains occupier guides, list of office locations. You can use the app to browse the listings on CBRE website.
Some buildings are so great they deserve an app.
Aldwich House app – Really good app, among other things you can see the available floors with plans and check the location on the map.
Canada Square app – The app has everything you need – the list of available offices, gallery, map and contacts, all conveniently at your fingertips.
The Steward Building app – see available office space, specifications and more.
