Overview

Audiology House is a residential development in Clapham, London SW12.

Developer Joseph Edmund has transformed the Victorian villa from the audio equipment manufacturing use back to its original residential purpose while maintaining the building’s historic character and charm.

Original features were retained by RED Construction wherever possible, including the distinctive roof trusses. Audiology House’s history as a factory can be seen in subtle industrial touches such as hand-made brick slips and storey height Velfac windows. Other features include discreet pocket doors, underfloor heating systems, and signature finishes and joinery furniture.

The site features a sustainable living wall, designed and installed by Biotecture, fitted with native evergreen plants to aid biodiversity and enhance air quality.

History

Originally built in 1870 and owned by famous engineer George Jennings. It was home to a hearing aid factory in the 1930-40s.

2020 September - Farringdon-based main contractor, RED Construction Group, secures an £8.1m one-year contract from Joseph Edmund to deliver a 16,170 sq ft residential conversion and extension at South London’s landmark Audiology House at 45 Nightingale Lane.
