Overview

60 Aldgate is a planned development in Aldgate, London EC3.

The development expands on previously consented plans for an office building and includes a new Still & Star Public House which embodies the original ‘slum pub’ that dates to the 1800s.

The new development offers a refurbished hotel, a new office building, retail/business units and a 15-storey residential building, as well as a landscaped park, a number of landscaped urban squares and both long and short-stay cycle parking.

The Still & Star pub, which was deemed an asset of community value in 2016, will be relocated from Little Somerset Street to a much more prominent location on Aldgate High Street. The new location allows the pub to be both expanded by 90sqm and reimagined as an enhanced and strengthened community and social asset. In addition, the details of the original façade will be scanned and replicated to celebrate its history.
