History
In October 2022, FT reveals the property might be for sale through Beauchamp Estates.
In 2021, a planning application with an updated look by Squire and Partners was submitted to Westminster Council for:
- Repair, partial demolition and alteration to parts of the existing building’s façade;
- Improve and re-organise the internal layouts necessitating replacement of some of the internal floor slabs;
- Demolition and remodelling of the existing fourth and fifth-floor levels with the introduction of a replacement mansard and a 3.3m increase in building height;
- Minor basement excavation at Level -2 to extend the existing floor level to accommodate plant.
2020 January - Cheung Chung-Kiu, the founder and chairman of CC Land Holdings, bought the mansion for £210,000,000.
2012 September - the house is reportedly for sale for £300 million (not on the open market).
2015 June - The owners are said to be preparing to sell the property's entire contents - from ornate chandeliers to jewel-encrusted bidets to curtains, doors and even gold-plated waste-paper bins - by public auction, in a knock-down fire sale at which no low offer is too insulting, reports The Guardian.
1836 - Rutland House is demolished.
1752 - Rutland House is built and owned by John Manners.
