London Square Fulham
Key Details
Overview
London Square Fulham is a residential development in Fulham, London SW6.
London Square will be restored the locally listed ornate Edwardian arched entrance and railings to Farm Lane, currently in a poor state of repair. Beyond the grand entrance, an impressive urban square was created, with terraced townhouses on three sides designed as a contemporary interpretation of Georgian proportions. The square is traffic-free, with communal gardens at its heart to design attractive green space for residents.
Award-winning Assael Architecture was appointed to deliver 40 new townhouses with private gardens and terraces, reflecting the tradition of one of the capital's most coveted architectural styles.
The townhouses are a contemporary interpretation of Georgian architectural style, using a palette of materials including stone and brick, with dormer windows and set back terraces, deep-set windows and large entrance doors, creating a sense of grandeur. The symmetrical square have terraces and landscaped lawns, with paths and trees, providing a focal point for the community in the square, with parking provided in underground private garages.
The two-acre site, in Farm Lane is a former rundown light industrial trading estate, was once used as stables for horse buses and in later days, cabs.
London Square acquired the site in 2010 and started on site in late summer 2012. The development was completed in 2015.
