Wardian London
Key Details
Overview
Wardian London is a residential-led development in London Borough Of Tower Hamlets, south of Canary Wharf in London's Docklands E14. Completed in 2020.
Wardian London comprises two 55- and 50-storey botanically inspired towers - East and West Tower - comprising 764-apartment suites, restaurants, shops, a rooftop sky lounge and a 25-metre open-air swimming pool.
The buildings include retail, leisure and café facilities on the ground and first floor. A new, landscaped public plaza in the western part of the site has been created, opening up the site to South Dock, which is just to the north of the site.
In addition to the high-end apartments, the project includes commercial, leisure facilities and innovative sky gardens by landscape specialist Camlins.
The inspiration behind Wardian London is the explorer, botanist, and inventor, Nathaniel Bagshaw Ward, a doctor, who invented a method of transporting plant life across vast distances in his innovative glass ‘Wardian cases.
The development is a joint venture between EcoWorld and Ballymore.
