Overview

Westferry Printworks is a mixed-use development on the Isle of Dogs, London E14.

The 15-acre site will provide 1,540 new private and affordable homes which will be available to buy or rent.

The new residents and local community will benefit from beautiful open spaces and waterside walks, two new parks and a new south facing dockside waterfront promenade along with an exciting mix of independent restaurants, bars and shops. The delivery of great sporting facilities, a new community centre and crèche, health centre, and a new 1,200 space secondary school will still take place as the original permission provided.

The development is just a short walk from Canary Wharf.

History

2018 September - new planning application is submitted for 1,540 new homes in total.
May - Public exhibition is held.

2016 - Planning permission granted by Tower Hamlets: Demolition of existing buildings and structures at the former Westferry Printworks site and the comprehensive mixed use redevelopment including buildings ranging from 4- 30 storeys in height (tallest being 110m AOD) comprising: a secondary school (Class D1), 722 residential units (Class C3), retail use (Class A1), flexible restaurant and cafe and drinking establishment uses (Class A3/A4), flexible office and financial and professional services uses (Class B1/A2), Community uses (Class D1), car and cycle basement parking, associated landscaping, new public realm and all other necessary enabling work (Amended description of development). Ref no PA/15/02216/A1.
