The scheme includes transforming The Queen’s Gardens park (formerly known as the Town Hall Gardens) which is situated in front of the new buildings.
The name is inspired by the public and locally loved Queen’s Gardens that the development will connect with. New play area and community, park refurbishments and fresh ideas came from a large community consultation project, led by Kaizen. The architecture for the café was chosen through competition for young, aspiring architects.
20% of more public space is delivered around the Queen’s Gardens.
