Overview

Elephant and Castle Town Centre is a mixed-use development on the site of the former shopping centre in London SE1.

The scheme will create a new town centre for Elephant and Castle with excellent transport links, first class shopping, new homes to rent, enhanced public spaces and cultural offerings, alongside a new cutting-edge campus for UAL's London College of Communication.

Phase 1 - 374 new homes for rent alongside 278 student units, across three buildings. The residential offer is complemented by a new Sainsbury’s supermarket and enhanced leisure and outside space. Phase 1 is being delivered in a venture with APG and Qatari Diar.

Phase 2 - Comprehensive redevelopment of the Elephant and Castle shopping centre into a new town centre that serves as the hub and focal point of the local community. Alongside a range of retailers, there will be more homes to rent, enhanced restaurant and leisure opportunities and a new cutting-edge university campus for London College of Communication. This will sit alongside a new Northern line tube entrance and tickethall and will connect the new Elephant and Castle town centre with the wider developments underway in the area. Phase 2 will be delivered in a joint venture with APG.
