Overview

Walsingham House is an office building in the City of London EC3.

Redeveloped in 2018.

The interior structure of the building was demolished while retaining the Portland stone façade. New piled foundations will enable the construction of a steel frame structure, adding two additional floors to the existing eight-storey building and creating nearly 50 per cent more internal office space to provide a net internal area (or NIA) of 65,000 sq ft.

The retained façade was cleaned and restored, and to achieve a targeted BREEAM Excellent rating, ISG upgrades glazing with high-performance units sympathetic to the original art deco window designs. The 2 additional floors feature curtain walling and contemporary Portland stone cladding.

Upper floors are served by a single core featuring 3 lifts and 2 staircases and at basement level. The open plan office layout was fitted out to a high Cat A standard in 2018, with a spacious reception area created at ground floor level.

Originally built in 1929 by the designs of Howard Souster.

2021 May - Insurance software specialist Ebix Europe acquired the Part 3rd floor (3,416 sq ft) and International Chamber of Shipping the 7th (5,495 sq ft) floor at Walsingham House through Newton Perkins.
