The Chain mixed-use development in Walthamstow, London E17.

Hadley Property Group and Pollard Thomas Edwards architects, in partnership with L&Q, built new homes, a park and retail space at South Grove in Walthamstow town centre.

473 homes were for sale, including 97 affordable homes. 127 one-beds, 275 two-beds, 28 three-beds, and 43 x studios. Each home has a private balcony or terrace.

Shared Ownership and Help to Buy apartments were available.

The scheme is car-free but parking for two car club vehicles will be provided, alongside 788 secure cycle spaces.

History

Also known as South Grove.

Construction began in early 2017 and the first homes was completed in 2019.

2016 February - A planning application was submitted, with permission granted in May 2016. The scheme includes 2,786m2 of public realm, including a park that will run east to west through the site, and some retail space.

The site was a council-run car park and also included a number of offices and light industrial units.
