Overview
The Verdean is a redevelopment of the Friary Park estate in Acton, London W3.
A development by Catalyst Housing Association and developer Mount Anvil.
The Verdean offers 990 new homes with 45% affordable housing, and community assets including, a supermarket, cafes and vast open areas benefiting from an outdoor gym, running track, basketball court, and climbing wall. Over a third of the site is landscaped.
The Oak - Phase 1
The first phase launched in June 2020. Completions from Q2 2024.

The development will also create a new commercial space, landscaped green spaces and an improved community facility.
The redevelopment will also make better use of its proximity to the local shopping area and the nearby Acton Main Line train station, which will be part of the new Crossrail network.
Catalyst will continue to own Friary Park and manage the homes for rent and shared ownership. All current Catalyst residents on Friary Park will have the option of being rehoused in the new development if planning permission is granted.
The development is completed in phases from 2024-2029.
History
2021 February - Enabling works start.
Resolution for planning permission was granted in November 2019. The whole development will take six to eight years (updated March 2020).
Catalyst consulted on the proposals to regenerate the estate with residents and the local community since 2014.
