Overview

Saxon Wharf is a residential-led mixed-use development in Greenwich, London SE10.

145 new homes, which will be a mix of London affordable rent (24%), shared ownership and market sale homes, as well as commercial accommodation on the ground floor.

The development includes:

- Commercial accommodation on the ground floor
- The enhanced public realm with a new public plaza off Norman Road and link to the creekside walk
- Enhancement and continuation of the creekside walk

- Hard landscaping to reflect the industrial heritage of the area
- Soft landscaping, including planting and trees to enhance the ecology of the area and which draws inspiration from the site's original use as ‘market gardens’
- Car-free development, with parking for blue badge holders
- Cycle storage for a minimum of 244 cycles
- Extensive greening throughout the site including green and brown roofs
- New jobs through construction as well as employment use on-site.

Saxon Wharf is located on the west side of Norman Road and backs immediately onto Deptford Creek.

History

2019 February - Planning permission granted by the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Application ref. no. 18/1594/F.

2017 - At the time of the public exhibition in 2017, the site was occupied and in use by a plant hire company.

2016 - Saxon Wharf was purchased by Notting Hill Genesis in 2016 for redevelopment.
