History of Wembley Park Station

Wembley Park station opened on 14 October 1893 as part of the Metropolitan Railway's expansion to Harrow-on-the-Hill, then called "Wembley Hill" and located slightly south of its current position. It was renamed "Wembley Complex" in 1894, becoming a vital connection point for local buses and trams.

In the early 20th century, the station underwent a significant reconstruction to support the development of the newly built Wembley Stadium. Architect Stanley Heaps designed the new station, which opened on 20 May 1923 as "Wembley Park". The station's art deco style, characterized by a tall tower and spacious hall, has made it a popular filming location.

The Jubilee line was extended to Wembley Park in 1978, with major refurbishments undertaken in the 1990s to expand entrances and platforms for higher passenger traffic. Today, Wembley Park station serves as a bustling transport hub for locals and visitors attending events at Wembley Stadium and Wembley Arena.
