Overview

Park Place is a residential-led development in Finchley, London N3. Completed in 2021.

Aitch Group has transformed the former Finchley Police Station on 0.192 hectares into two buildings providing 41 residential units and 1,700 sq ft of retail space.

New Homes
The development offers studios, 1 and 2-bedroom apartments for sale across two buildings opposite Victoria Park.

6 new show homes were launched in November 2021.

The new homes at Park Place range from 410 sq ft for a studio apartment up to 924 sq ft for a two-bedroom apartment.

Natural materials and modern finishes are used throughout. Neutral colour palettes bounce natural light around the interiors whilst the full height glazing provides views over the park.

Each apartment is designed to a high specification including a fully fitted Nobilia kitchen with Bosch fitted appliances, timber flooring throughout hallways, living rooms and kitchens, contemporary black switches and sockets and fitted wardrobes to the master bedrooms.

The apartments also benefit from a passenger lift to all floors, a reception area with secure post boxes for each apartment, bike storage and parking spaces available.

The building has floor-to-ceiling windows, covered balconies and a brick façade, recalling the brick façade of the former police station, paying homage to the site’s former use.

History

Ballards Lane Police Station was famous for investigating high profile cases during the Victorian and Edwardian eras such as the infamous Black-Hand Gang during Victorian times, the Finchley baby kidnappers Amelia Sach and Annie Walters in 1903 and the Tube train murders of 1939. The Metropolitan Police started operating in Finchley in 1873 with the Ballards Lane site first developed with a grand Victorian Police Station in 1886, then redeveloped with a modern police station in 1965. In 2017 the police station became outdated and was sold for redevelopment to Aitch Group with an upgraded police station located on the High Road in East Finchley covering the Finchley region.

2020 February - Aitch Group appoints a contractor CField.
2019 August - Planning permission from Barnet Council ref. no. 19/2079/FUL.
