Switch House at Tate Modern has won silver in the mixed-use constructed architecture category at London Design Awards 2016.

Designed by Herzog & de Meuron, the new development doubled the gallery space and added a new entrance to the South, and a direct North-South passage, taking people from the Thames through the existing building and the Turbine Hall out to a new city plaza to the South on Sumner Street and from there on to Southwark.

The London Design Awards is organised by design100 a global community of 75,000 design experts that celebrate creative courage, recognise design excellence and grow demand for design.
