Work has begun to demolish a collection of derelict buildings to make way for new homes at The Broadway in Cricklewood, reports developer Fairview New Homes.

Fairview is set to start work on a development of 122 apartments on the land, which fronts onto Cricklewood Lane, when the site clearance is complete.

The development will include 3 medium-sized business start-up units at ground-floor level.

Jim Holliday, Sales and Marketing Director for Fairview, said: “Locals will have seen our recent development on the former Hendon FC site, off Claremont Road, and we are looking forward to giving a new lease of life to another vacant brownfield site in Cricklewood.

“Once the site has been cleared, we will begin construction. The first homes are set to be released for sale in early 2018, and we will be welcoming our first residents to their homes in late summer 2018.”

The company will make community contributions totalling more than £1.4m as part of the development of The Broadway, and will take on 14 apprentices to work on the project.

A total of £1.3m of Fairview’s contributions will be made under the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), which supports the delivery of infrastructure to support new developments.
