The Avenue office development has completed, reports Waterman.

Waterman was appointed by Exemplar, in partnership with AshbyCapital and The Bedford Estates, to provide multidiscipline consultancy services for the scheme, which comprises seven upper levels of offices, retail accommodation at ground and basement levels.

Waterman’s Director Mark Terndrup, commented: “We are very proud to have been involved in this prestigious scheme. It was fantastic to partner with Mace MEP early in the process and this has been reflected in the quality of the building services installation which meant that we could develop engineering solutions that significantly reduced the on-site construction and commissioning process. Our early involvement in the project enabled us to get a truly holistic design, starting with an integrated approach to the design of the façade for energy efficiency and then bolstered by other sustainable strategies to get us to a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.

Gavin Seager, Director at Mace MEP, added: “The proactive relationship between Mace MEP and Waterman’s Building Services team provided seamless transition between design and installation. The attention to detail at design stage meant that we could explore opportunities for modularisation and pre-fabrication. Our transparent and open relationship enabled quick resolution of issues to support the construction process and we worked collaboratively to keep the design on budget. The success has been measured by the seem-less handover with minimal snags and we are proud to have completed on time.”
