A reserved matters planning consent has been granted for the second phase of development at Gallions Quarter.

Galliford Try Partnerships will develop the site in joint venture with Notting Hill Genesis. The planning decision grants permission to construct 241 new homes in three new apartment blocks, alongside more than 1,500m2 of non-residential space. Of these, 47 homes will be affordable rent, 48 available for shared ownership and 146 for open market sale. Additionally, the site will include a new public square, new recreation areas, and shops and cafes.

Gallions Quarter, located between the Royal Docks and the River Thames near Beckton, will eventually provide up to 800 homes. It forms a key part of the wider Royal Albert Wharf regeneration. Once complete, the entire site will provide in excess of 1,800 new homes, creating a vibrant new neighbourhood.

Stuart Brodie, Managing Director of Galliford Try Partnerships London, commented: “Gallions Quarter has a major role to play in the wider regeneration here at Royal Albert Wharf. Working in partnership with Notting Hill Genesis, our plans will transform this area into a vibrant mix of new homes and commercial spaces.”

Kate Davies, Chief Executive of Notting Hill Genesis, added: “Our regeneration of this underused part of London is proving a great success, with families already making the most of quality, spacious homes and Royal Albert Wharf winning a number of prestigious awards. We are committed to continuing this success with Gallions Quarter and are excited to get started on the new homes, of which 40 per cent will be affordable housing.”
