A topping out ceremony was held at Dash Hoxton this week.

Former residents of St Leonard’s Court, in New North Road, joined Mayor of Hackney Philip Glanville and Cllr Clayeon McKenzie, Cabinet Member for Housing Services, to see the progress being made in building the new homes they will move into and mark the completion of the block’s concrete frame by the Council’s contractors, Countryside.

Hackney is building thousands of homes across the borough, and it was great to join residents to take a sneak peek at their new homes in Hoxton as they take shape.

Philip Glanville, Mayor of Hackney commented: "We’re doing everything we can to build genuinely affordable Council housing despite a lack of government support, and rather than simply sell off land, some of the homes we’re building here will help us build hundreds of Council homes elsewhere in Hackney."

Andy Fancy, Managing Director, Partnerships South (North & South), Countryside said: "Topping out is a significant milestone in the regeneration of St Leonard’s Court in Hoxton, and it is incredibly exciting to celebrate this together with Hackney Council. This project will make a vital contribution towards Hackney Council’s regeneration programme and we’re delighted to see this come to life. Residents here will enjoy tranquil, sustainable living in the heart of Hoxton and we’re extremely proud to be creating places people will love."
