The Chinese government has commissioned David Chipperfield Architects to design the new London embassy on the former site of the Royal Mint Court, reports Architect's Journal.

The previous home of the Embassy of China was at 49-51 Portland Place in Marylebone. The Consular and Visa Affairs are located at 31 Portland Place.
