New appointment

Fit-out and finishing contractor Lucas has won a major residential painting package in the redevelopment of the Battersea Power Station.

A total of 308 residential units will be painted by Lucas at Prospect Place in Phase 3. The apartments range from studios and 1-3 bedroom apartments to townhouses and duplex penthouses in two distinctive, 15-storey buildings forming part of Prospect Place.

Once this phase is completed there will be a series of imaginatively shaped buildings of over 1,300 homes designed by architects Gehry Partners and Foster + Partners and situated around Prospect Park.

Lucas is also responsible for painting all residential corridors and lobbies as well as the shared podium area between the ground and upper ground floors of the buildings. This latest Lucas project at Battersea is for Sir Robert McAlpine who is the Construction Managers and is due to start shortly with a scheduled finish of late 2021.

Danny Lucas, Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Lucas, commented: “The packages we are winning at Battersea demonstrate our ability to deliver high quality, large scale fit-out and finishing programmes as well as intricate refurbishment projects.”
