Brent Council has approved St George's updated Grand Union masterplan, designed by Sheppard Robson, for an additional 320 homes, bringing the total number of homes delivered by this scheme to 3,350 homes.

Sheppard Robson's new masterplan adds three new buildings in Phase 3 - Block J rising to 25 storeys in height, and Blocks G and H offering low-rise mansion buildings. It will also include a more extensive landscape across the entire site.

The buildings contain 440 private and affordable homes (35% affordable rent and shared ownership 35% affordable tenure).

Small green spaces, a green street, and a large park, with a waterfall and a terraced amphitheatre, have been added. The landmark ‘Block J’ building in Phase 3 will be a marker for the park, with a distinct hexagonal form acting as a focal point on the skyline.

Alan Shingler, Partner at Sheppard Robson, commented: ‘We are proud to be able to enhance the Grand Union masterplan, whilst simplifying the delivery of this new neighbourhood with placemaking and connectivity at the heart of our design. We are pleased to be able to add Phase 3 designs consented in detail to our designs for Phase 2, which received planning earlier this year.’
