Show home launch

A new show apartment showcasing the best of British design has been launched at Thirty Casson Square.

Designed by Portia Fox interior design studio, the 3-bedroom sub-penthouse home on the 27th-floor of the building offers excellent views of the river and the city.

Most of the furniture in the show home has been designed in-house at Portia Fox, taking inspiration from the former coal and dye works (hammered and blackened bronze finishes), timber yards (grain blackened timber) and potteries based at the Southbank Place site.

The furniture has all been handmade by British makers from all over the country. For example, the straw marquetry dining table featuring bold geometric coloured shapes, inspired by the South Bank's brutalist architecture, was made in west London. The bespoke bedside tables in the master bedroom have been handmade by a cabinet maker based in Newcastle.

There are several unique statement pieces, which brings an element of fun to the interiors. A bespoke cabinet veneered in dyed blue birds-eye maple in the snug area transforms into a bar. There is a straw marquetry dining table with bold geometric coloured shapes inspired by the architecture of South Bank. There is also a sculptural marble bust in the master bathroom and a colourful organic chandelier in the lounge.

The artwork at Thirty Casson Square is also from the local artists. Cornwall based artist, Diane Whalley, did the piece in the hallway. Cambridgeshire based Nicky Knowles' geometric collage Cambridgeshire is in the second bedroom, and London based Spencer Fung created the paintings in the master bedroom.

Brian De’ath, Director of Residential Sales at Southbank Place, commented: “For the first time we can show people around a completed apartment in this building bringing together all of the best elements of Southbank Place - fantastic design, a perfect location and incredible views”.

Portia Fox, Founder of Portia Fox said: “Through our interior design in the show home at Thirty Casson Square, we wanted to reflect the soul of the area. South Bank is a place full of culture, so we felt that this offered an opportunity to be experimental with our design decisions; we have created pieces that inspire conversation".

Portia Fox-designed show apartment at Thirty Casson Square is for sale for £7.75m.
