Countryside and L&Q have secured unanimous planning approval from Ealing Council for Phase 7.2 of Acton Gardens, which will provide 185 mixed-tenure homes.

Located between the recently constructed Phase 7.1 and opposite Avenue Park, Phase 7.2 represents the next piece in the Avenue Road frontage.

Designed by GRID Architects, the new phase will provide 185 new apartments, of which 50% will be affordable on a habitable room basis. Of these new homes, 44 will be for Active Living (independent apartments eligible for over 55’s and specifically designed to adapt to people’s changing needs over time). An energy centre hosting a site-wide District Heating System is also being delivered as part of the phase, which will help to reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality due to reduction in gas emissions.

The development will create new public spaces, including a courtyard garden with direct access for all residents.

The works are expected to begin late 2021 with the first completions due in 2024.

Daniel King, Managing Director, Partnerships West London and Thames Valley, Countryside, commented: “Throughout the regeneration we have worked closely with the local community and our partners, Ealing Council and L&Q, to deliver new homes and community facilities that reflect the needs of residents. Therefore, we are delighted that our proposals for Phase 7.2 have been so well-received, with no objections following the planning submission and unanimous approval from the planning committee. The new phase will deliver high-quality new homes set within new public spaces as well as a District Heating System which will lead to a reduction in carbon and in line with Ealing Council’s sustainability aims and targets for the future.

Darren Parker, Director of Project Management and Development at L&Q added: “This is a fantastic decision, which enables us to continue delivering on our commitments to bring beautiful new homes, communal facilities and public spaces to Acton Gardens. We worked closely with residents when developing these plans, and we’re proud of what we achieved together. We’re particularly excited about the District Energy Centre, which will help us provide cleaner and greener energy for our residents.”
