Hines has appointed RED Construction to deliver the new flagship mixed-use retail and office scheme at 80 New Bond Street/325 Oxford Street.

RED Construction will carry out the comprehensive refurbishment, including part demolition and removal of the existing top floor and Dering Street wing. That wing will then be reconstructed, with two floors on top of the building, totalling seven floors to a Category A fit-out, with two retail units to be created on the ground and first floors.

Designed to achieve a BREEAM Outstanding rating with a BIM Level 2, the scheme will create a total office area of 31,000 sq ft, with floorplates ranging from 3,000 to 6,500 sq ft, and a large communal roof terrace. The new office entrance will be repositioned onto Dering Street.

The development is expected to complete in Spring 2023.

David Osborne, Operations Director at RED Construction, commented: “I am delighted to join the RED team as this landmark project for Hines is secured. The location is amongst the world’s most iconic destinations, and with the Bond Street Crossrail station on its way, it is set to become even more significant and accessible. I look forward to drawing on my existing relationships and extensive experience with the client team to achieve the delivery of this excellent project.”

Graham Sturge, Managing Director of RED Construction, said: “80 New Bond Street is a momentous project win for the RED Construction team. The elements of this milestone scheme call on many of RED Construction’s technical specialities and capabilities, with its innovative pre-cast concrete features and a strong focus on sustainability measures.”
