St William has completed another 99 affordable homes for Wandsworth borough at Prince of Wales Drive.

The brownfield site, which was once the inaccessible Battersea Gasholders complex, will provide 229 new affordable homes in total.

Cllr Ravi Govindia, Leader of London Borough of Wandsworth, commented: "It's impressive to see how this brownfield land once dominated by gasworks is now taking shape as a new landscaped location in Battersea and Nine Elms, bringing much-needed new homes, office space and shops.

"I'm pleased that these affordable homes in a fantastic location will be available first to Wandsworth residents and workers through our Homeownership List and affordable rent scheme. The Council welcomes Clarion's commitment to high management standards for all our local residents choosing to live here.

"Furthermore, we're proud that the construction of this site has provided an employment boost with 49 local people working here through Wandsworth Work Match job starts and apprenticeships."

Sean Ellis, Chairman of St William added: "This is another fantastic milestone for Prince of Wales Drive and I want to thank our partners at the London Borough of Wandsworth and Clarion Housing for their vision and support. This is an extremely challenging and complex brownfield regeneration site and we are very proud of the green, welcoming and tenure-blind neighbourhood it has become."

Once complete, Prince of Wales Drive will deliver more than 900 new homes and a mix of new local amenities, including 93,650 sq ft of new office space, a café, gym, shops and a nursery - all set amongst 2.5 acres of beautiful public open space.
