Newfoundland development has won the Residential High Rise Development award within the 200-299m category at the 2021 International Property Awards.

The panel of expert judges looked at how location, architectural merit, interior design, sustainability, layout, appearance and finish contributed to the development of outstanding quality, worthy of international recognition.

The tallest Build to Rent tower in the UK was designed by Horden Cherry Lee architects and is remarkable due to the site running directly above the Transport for London’s (TFL) Jubilee Line. The building’s slim design and unique diamond façade were determined by the narrow footprint of the site and the diagonal alignment of the surrounding streets.

Alastair Mullens, Managing Director, Vertus commented: “Newfoundland, the tallest Build to Rent scheme in the UK is the latest milestone in the exciting development of the Canary Wharf estate as a place to live, work and play. Carefully thought-out engineering and architectural processes were implemented to create the remarkable diagrid structure and it is a great achievement for this work to be recognised by this accolade.’’

Prices at Newfoundland currently start from £1,928pcm for a studio.
