Google has announced it will buy its Central Saint Giles complex for £762m.
The investment in the Renzo Piano-designed development represents the company's continued confidence in the office as a place for in-person collaboration and connection.
Over the next few years, Google will invest millions into the refurbishment of the offices within Central Saint Giles to ensure that they meet the needs of the post-pandemic workplace.
New types of collaboration spaces will be introduced for in-person teamwork, as well as creating more overall space to improve wellbeing.
The new office will include team pods - the flexible new space types that can be reconfigured in multiple ways, supporting focused work, collaboration or both, based on team needs.
New outdoor covered working spaces will be built to enable work in the fresh air.
