Global investment group Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) has taken the 4th floor of 70 Broadwick Street for its new European headquarters.

Shaftesbury has signed a 10-year lease of 17,429 sq ft ahead of completion in Q4 2022. The building is targeting BREEAM Excellent accreditation featuring near net zero carbon heat pump heating, photovoltaic panels on two floors and integrated biodiversity with extensive planters, living walls and a green roof.

The 4 th floor has its own dedicated entrance, features a private, wrap-around terrace with panoramic views across Carnaby and central London, with access to a 2,000 sq ft roof terrace on the 6th floor providing more outdoor amenity space.

Avison Young and CMS acted for CDPQ and RX London, Colliers International and Hogan Lovells for Shaftesbury.

Simon Quayle, Executive Director at Shaftesbury, commented: “Physical workplaces will continue to play an important role in London’s recovery and we’re excited to welcome CDPQ to the Carnaby community.

“Working in the West End offers unique experiences and exciting amenities, at a time when employers and employees are placing more value than ever on their surroundings. 70 Broadwick Street is not only built to the highest spec but is a truly mixed-use building– the perfect spot for a talented, ambitious workforce.”

David Morley, Managing Director and Head of Europe, CDPQ Mondial, CDPQ London said: “Our move to 70 Broadwick Street –a vibrant, diverse location in the heart of Soho – demonstrates our commitment to London. It will enable us to create an attractive and sustainable workplace for our European headquarters as we continue to grow.”
