The Qatari royal family is set to add Battersea Power Station to its London property collection alongside Harrods, Chelsea Barracks and the One Hyde Park apartments in Knightsbridge, reports Evening Standard.
The property arm of the Gulf emirate is in "advanced" talks with the struggling Irish owners of the Grade II* listed industrial icon about a rescue deal that would see it take a 50 per cent stake.
The negotiations between Qatari Diar, which is controlled by the gas-rich state's ruling family, and REO are said to have progressed well although there is still no confirmed deal.
