Alchemi Group has appointed international construction company John Sisk & Son to 55VS, their development of New York loft style apartments in the heart of Victoria, SW1.

With its striking architectural design - conceptualised by Alchemi Group in collaboration with Stiff + Trevillion Architects – 55VS (55 Victoria Street) and is surrounded by the Capital's best known & loved landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, the Royal Parks, Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.

The development comprises 54 apartments, ranging from Studio flats to split-level Penthouse residences. Each will benefit from open plan living spaces with 2.9m ceiling heights internally and five metre wide floor-to-ceiling windows along with wide plank oak wood floors in a dark matte finish, bronzed balustrades, unique designer kitchens and bespoke elements such hand glazed terracotta tiles. Every aspect of the scheme has been carefully considered; from the exterior clad in handmade charcoal fired bricks from Denmark, to the internal layouts and finishes throughout, chosen for their quality, texture and style.

There will be access to a gymnasium, and two communal gardens – a lushly landscaped rear courtyard and an 8th floor Sky Garden with expansive south facing views.

Nick Porzig, Development Director of Alchemi Group commented; “We're delighted to appoint SISK to build this fantastic project within the heart of Westminster. With their expertise and emphasis on quality Sisk are a natural partner to deliver this unique project. This building is a key milestone in Alchemi’s growth strategy and we look forward to the successful delivery of the project in October 2015."

Sisk Director, Mike Higgins commented;

“Sisk are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Alchemi Group to deliver this prestigious residential scheme. Alchemi’s in-depth understanding of the Central London residential market, and their ability to consistently bring excellent products to market, makes them a key client with whom we can forge a long term relationship."

The area immediately to the South of the site is dominated by good quality brick buildings, the majority of them residential and representing a range of architectural styles and periods of history. These buildings feature a wide variety of brick details, colours and bonding patterns. 55VS responds to this townscape by re-establishing residential use on Victoria Street, and by working with brick as the principle external material. It also marks an important corner on Victoria Street, making the building highly visible, particularly on the approach from Victoria Station.

In recent years, a number of older buildings have been replaced by high profile mixed-use developments. The renaissance of the area is attracting global fashion brands as well as high quality restaurants.

The result of this £4bn regeneration scheme is a diverse and energetic living and working population, making Victoria the 24-hour city address.

Sisk are due to start on site on 7 April 2014 with project completion expected in October 2015. The building will achieve a BREEAM Score of 70% - Rating 'Excellent'. Practical completions will be phased; with Ground, First & Second Floor due for completion July 2015, Third floor due for completion August 2015 and Fourth floor and above due for completion October 2015.

The on site Marketing Suite will launch 3rd April 2014.
