Aylesbury Estate
27/11/2014 by Buildington

Residents on the Aylesbury estate can now view plans to regenerate their area – and keep up to date with latest news about the regeneration – on a brand new website dedicated to the project, which launched this week at Aylesburynow.london.

With Southwark Council validating the applications submitted by Notting Hill Housing, a consultation period will now begin. Letters are being sent out to those in the consultation area, the plans will go on display at various locations, and the documents are now available in full by visiting www.aylesburynow.london.

The plans cover a detailed proposal for the first development site, as well as an outline proposal for the overall masterplan. If agreed, demolition will begin in 2015 and the regeneration should be completed in 2032.

By visiting the new website, residents can find information about the regeneration, the history of the area, what the project is offering in terms of homes and social improvement and details of how they can take part in the consultation.

Aylesbury Now is an identity for the overall regeneration project, chosen by residents following consultation and a poll on the website of community group Creation Trust.

To see a paper copy of the planning applications, you can visit Thurlow Lodge, in Thurlow Street, SE17 2US at these times:

Saturday 6 December – 11am-5.30pm
Tuesday 9 December – 11am-5.30pm
Wednesday 10 December – 1pm-8pm
Thursday 11 December – 11am-5.30pm
Friday 12 December 1pm-5.30pm

Southwark Council’s offices in Tooley Street, London Bridge, will also have copies available to view by appointment. The plans will also be available at http://www.southwark.gov.uk/planning.
