Hammersmith Grove has received the British Council for Offices (BCO) Commercial Workplace award.

The accolade was received at the BCO’s prestigious 2015 regional awards ceremony at the London Hilton Park Lane on 28 April 2015. Judges commended the commercial success of the speculative development, which completed its lettings in September last year.

Built by Wates Construction, the 8-storey building comprises 110,000 sq ft of office space and 6,000 sq ft of cafes, restaurants and public realm spaces with open terraces.

The project’s consultant team includes QS, Faithfull and Gould; architect, Flanagan Lawrence; M&E engineers, AECOM; and structural engineer, Pell Frischman.

Following Wates’ completion of the scheme last year, we are currently on site with the neighbouring 12 Hammersmith Grove, an 11-storey speculative Grade A office and retail development adjacent to Hammersmith Tube Station.

Simon Hesketh, Development Director, Development Securities, commented: “The win is testament to the team’s dedication and belief in a scheme that has managed to reposition Hammersmith’s office market. We are delighted with the tenant roster, and the varied nature of each fit-out speaks well of 10HG’s inherent flexibility which we worked so hard to achieve.”

Phil Shortman, Managing Director, Wates Construction London, added: “10 Hammersmith Grove faced some tough competition to receive this coveted BCO award, an indication of the quality of commercial buildings that are gracing the London and South East skyline.

“Development Securities’ vision for this project was not only to create an exceptional work space but to lead the regeneration of West London. Wates is extremely proud to have been entrusted with realising this vision at 10 and now 12 Hammersmith Grove.”
