Mikhail Riches has won the competition to design twenty new townhouses for Television Centre development, reports Stanhope.

The contest was organised by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, the leading architect on the project.

Mikhail Riches’ co-founder David Mikhail said:

‘This project perfectly combines the two sides of our practice, our work on private, one-off houses and our housing work.’

The practice said the two rows of terraced homes shared a ‘common façade onto the public triangle’ at the front but responded ‘very differently’ at the rear, with those situated closest to the railway track designed as courtyard-style homes.

Ron German, director of Stanhope said:

‘We are delighted that Mikhail Riches will be joining the team to create 20 new townhouses at Television Centre, showcasing the very best in British design.

‘The new homes will be set around a large open space to complement the rest of the mixed-use redevelopment, as well as the wider White City community.

‘With up to 5,000 high quality new homes, 400 shops and 30 acres of public space, White City will be a new destination at the heart of West London.’
