Planning consent has been granted for Phase 7.1 and construction is currently underway across another four phases of the £600m regeneration scheme, reports Countryside Properties.

Phase 7.1, design by architects Stitch Studio, will deliver 246 new homes and include 104 affordable homes and 142 for private sale homes, in a mix of apartments, houses and duplex überhaus™. Construction on these is expected to begin next summer, with completion by the end of 2019.

In recent months, construction has begun on Phase 4 designed by PCKO Architects and this will deliver 107 new homes across a full range of tenures. Demolition and site clearance has also started for Phase 5 which has been designed by HTA Architects and will deliver a further 271 new homes.

Overall completion of the 21 multi-phased scheme is currently anticipated to be in 2026.

Mike Woolliscroft, Operations Director for Countryside comments: “Acton Gardens is evolving rapidly and receiving planning consent for Phase 7.1 is another important milestone. Through the delivery of the early phases the development is already well established as a highly attractive place to live. Acton Gardens is a model for 21st century sustainable urban design, transforming the local area while integrating with its West London surroundings. A combination of the highest standards of architecture together with development of the community is fundamental to our vision for Acton Gardens and will continue to shape the scheme as it progresses over the coming years.”

In addition to new homes, the plans for Acton Gardens include a wide range of amenities to benefit the whole community. At the development’s heart, The Hub has 55,000 sq ft of space for community use as well as a central plaza with a supermarket and other community facilities. Extensive green open spaces are central to the designs and includes a series of parks, squares, communal gardens, play areas and allotments.

Councillor Julian Bell, leader of Ealing Council, said: “I am really impressed with the progress being made at Acton Gardens. The development is an outstanding example of a successful resident-led project that is part of the wider revival of South Acton, one of the largest regeneration schemes in London. We are pleased to be continuing with our ambitious programme of estate and town centre renewal offering affordable housing across the borough, and this development greatly enhances the area.”
