Balfour Beatty has been selected by LBS Properties, a property development and investment management company, to deliver a pre-construction services contract for The Madison, a £150million London Docklands residential tower adjacent to Canary Wharf.

Balfour Beatty will work closely with LBS Properties, on areas including procurement and the delivery strategy in anticipation of the full construction contract award expected this summer.

The Madison will comprise a 53-storey tower containing commercial space, extensive landscaped gardens at ground level and 423 residential apartments. It will benefit from a host of amenities, including a 16th floor residents’ lounge with stunning views of Canary Wharf, a private screening room, business facilities, a gym, spa and swimming pool.

Dean Banks, Managing Director of Balfour Beatty’s UK Construction Services business, said:

“The Madison will be one of the tallest structures under construction in the UK, standing at an impressive 187 metres.
“I am delighted the specialist skills and expertise Balfour Beatty offers in this growing market have been recognised by LBS Properties. We look forward to securing the full award in the summer and to delivering this iconic structure.”

Balfour Beatty said it will begin enabling works this February prior to full contract award with completion of the development scheduled for late 2019.
