REM, on behalf of the owners of The Shard, has confirmed that a further 9,017 sq ft of office space has been let to Jellyfish, the digital marketing agency.

It is the second letting to be confirmed this year, following a successful 2015, which saw 12 new occupiers take space at one of London’s most iconic buildings.

Jellyfish will expand from its current base in Reigate, Surrey to The Shard at London Bridge after it signed a new 10-year lease for part of level 22, sharing the floor with Khazanah Europe Investments Ltd, which will move into The Shard later this year.

This takes the total number of office occupiers in the building to 27 across 15 business sectors.

Founded in 1999, Jellyfish is a digital marketing agency which brings together multiple channels and services. Soon to be based at The Shard it also has offices in the US, South Africa, and Japan with more than 300 employees globally.

Irvine Sellar, The Shard’s developer, co-owner, and vice-chairman of REM and James Goldsmith, Leasing Director of REM, said: “We had a very successful year in 2015, which saw our vision for creating a vertical city really come to life. The latest signing of Jellyfish further demonstrates the building and wider area’s appeal to the media sector. With only 10% of the office space at London Bridge Quarter still remaining available, we will be working hard to attract further diversity in our occupier base over the coming few months.”

Rob Pierre, CEO of Jellyfish comments: “We’re excited to be moving into such an iconic building, amongst some of the most powerful media brands in the world. The business has seen significant global growth over the past three years and we’re confident that this move into The Shard will further galvanise growth and success for our business. The opportunity is huge, as we broaden our foothold in London and hope to attract more businesses to partner with us for their digital marketing solutions. The Shard will also be home to our training and consultancy offering which teaches brands from all over the world the key disciplines involved in a successful digital marketing strategy.”

The Shard’s office space is home to companies operating in media, finance, professional services, consulting, luxury brand, education, flexible offices, energy, technology, healthcare, recruitment and asset management. In excess of 9,500 people now work at London Bridge Quarter, the vibrant estate comprising The Shard and the adjacent News UK headquarters building.

JLL and Knight Frank are leasing agents on The Shard. Altus Maxwell Brown advised Jellyfish.
