Cluttons, leading property consultants and chartered surveyors, has announced it is to open an office in the City of London in response to a growing demand for its core property services.

The services provided from the new office will address the growing pressure created by slow economic recovery and static City office rental growth. This has resulted in the need for landlords and developers to maintain value and shore up income streams, as occupiers are taking a more cost conscious approach to their premises.

In addition to Cluttons’ core services, there will be a focus on property asset optimisation encompassing sustainability, facilities management and flexibility of space. Cluttons has designed a toolkit having identified a demand from City landlords, developers and occupiers to focus on optimising building performance and running costs in a way not traditionally incorporated in property management services.

Bill Siegle, senior partner, Cluttons, commented: "There is an emerging trend for businesses moving from the West End to the City and we believe occupier activity in the City will see increased movement this year and next. We are keen to ensure we capitalise on this and harness our in-house expertise to build on our client portfolio and meet the evolving requirements of tenants and landlords."

Paul Chilton, partner and newly appointed head of Cluttons’ City office, commented: "It is becoming ever more important to ensure that buildings present the right image, are energy efficient and cost effective to maintain the future value of the asset. Our service will provide investors, funds and occupiers with the tools to ensure they are gaining maximum value from their properties, whilst minimising waste and inefficiencies.’

Cluttons City office is 1 Gracechurch Street, EC3V and will open in February.
