Developer Galliard Homes has launched a sales centre in Hong Kong as post-pandemic sales in London soar.

The developer is preparing to celebrate its 30th anniversary of exhibiting and selling property in Hong Kong next year. Despite the global pandemic, the new hub, which opened two months ago in December 2021, has already proven its worth with an excess of £5 million of sales achieved.

The new Galliard Hong Kong Real Estate Office has been designed so that owner-occupiers, investors, introducers and real estate aficionados can peruse multiple, highly detailed development models at any one time, thoroughly exploring and analysing Galliard’s latest projects, such as The Stage in Shoreditch EC2 and TCRW on Oxford Street W1.

Inside Galliard’s Hong Kong Real Estate Office, there are three interactive TVs that feature bespoke created programmes showcasing the different schemes. These videos enable the client to walk through some of the UK’s most exciting new neighbourhoods and feel as if they are on the ground. With the use of VR headsets, they are fully immersed inside the homes, on the streets, in the pocket parks, enjoying community facilities and taking in the views of the cityscape.

The Hong Kong hub will also deliver a holistic, on-site service. Adjacent to the model developments will be an expertise suite with an in-house mortgage advisor, a lettings and management service via LiFE Residential and a furniture provider – New Concept Furnishings.

Chrissy Yan, Business Development Manager of the new Galliard Hong Kong Real Estate Office

Chrissy Yan, Business Development Manager of the new Galliard Hong Kong Real Estate Office, commented: “Galliard was one of the first developers to recognise the investment appetite in Hong Kong and the real estate synergy between Hong Kong and the UK. We started exhibiting and selling here in 1993 and have enjoyed repeat successes with repeat clients over three decades.”

“After focussing so much on Hong Kong over the last 30 years, we decided in early 2021 to elevate our service even further by creating a fixed base on the ground in Hong Kong to facilitate the needs of existing clients in that part of the world. The ambition is also to grow our already impressive network of local agents and introducers and to offer yet more services to prospective clients,” says Ms Yan.

Ben Waterman, Director of International Sales at Galliard
Ms Yan will be reporting to Ben Waterman, Director of International Sales at Galliard and a property expert in the Asia Pacific region.

Ben Waterman commented: “We are delighted to have recruited Ms Yan to join our experienced team of five permanent members of staff based in the new Hong Kong real estate hub. As a unit they will provide excellent customer service to Chinese purchasers and agents and advise them on key stages of the development and sales processes,” he says. “There will also be total connectivity between the Hong Kong-based arm of Galliard and UK operations, with capacity for members of the UK sales force to fly out and interact with Hong Kong clients.”

“The strength of the UK’s vaccine and booster roll-out programmes, the reopening of the UK and the international perception that London remains a safe haven for investment, is resulting in a renewed appetite to buy in the UK – albeit as an investor or an owner-occupier. British universities are now returning to face-to-face teaching and with that, we are seeing the return of international students into new-build apartments too,” says Mr Waterman. “The British Government’s commitment to regeneration and infrastructure programmes and the levelling up agenda also supports Galliard’s long-standing strategy of developing in regional cities such as Birmingham, which are also popular with clients in the Asia Pacific.”

Galliard’s new Asian hub is situated in the affluent residential and commercial district of Wan Chai, and joins landmark buildings such as the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), the Central Plaza and the Hopewell Centre.

The exhibition and sales space are located in room 802 on the 8th floor of the Jubliee Centre, the 26-storey building at 18 Fenwick Street, 42–46 Gloucester Road in the Wan Chai district on Hong Kong Island.
