In East City Point development's second phase, The Atrium Building, a selection of contemporary apartments are being created to offer stylish homes, with an emphasis on environmentally friendly living but also boasting the latest trends in interior design, perfect for busy professionals.
Andrew Loveday, Sales and Marketing Director of Countryside, comments: “At Countryside design quality and expert craftsmanship go hand in hand and homes at East City Point will be a great example of both. Here, we are offering homebuyers the opportunity to buy into a new community that will embrace our sustainability ethos and offer a superb environment but also reflect the modern homebuyer’s desire to live in a beautifully designed home.”
Michelle Frawley at Inspire Design Interiors, the designer responsible for creating the contemporary interiors of the show home at East City Point’s Atrium Building, explains further: “Our brief was very clear; current and upmarket. We took our inspiration from The Atrium Building’s modern architecture and also wanted to reflect the close proximity to central London and create homes that would appeal to the discerning purchaser. To this end, we used the latest in high quality wall coverings and light paint colours to evoke a feeling of light, modern luxury.”
“In addition, we used carefully chosen pieces of furniture in the show home to add to the upmarket, contemporary feel, such as the console table in the entrance hall. Originally designed by high end designers Villiers Brothers, they kindly allowed us to carefully reproduce this black marble topped table with chrome steel circular base so as to create an affordable purchase for homebuyers. We also included a boxed art work in the lounge, a bespoke design that also evoked a sense of fashionable London living.”
This attention to detail will also be seen in the quality specification of the apartments, once complete. The communal areas will feature ceramic flooring and heavy duty slate coloured carpets to stairs, upper floor lobbies and corridors. A neutral palette will be enhanced by walnut veneered communal doors and lifts featuring brushed steel doors with granite effect floors.
Inside the apartments, contemporary fitted kitchens will feature handleless gloss base and tall units, contrasting stone worktops with matching upstand, a range of top of the range appliances including electric ceramic hob with glass splashback, brushed steel single electric oven and single microwave oven, integrated fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Stone coloured carpets will be fitted to living/dining room, hallways and bedrooms, to create a modern palette.
Bathrooms will feature white sanitaryware with contemporary chrome accessories, ceramic tiles to floor and walls, chrome radiators and fitted mirror fronted driftwood cabinet, bath panel and counter top whilst externally there is external lighting to paved balconies.
Eco features will include double glazing, green roofs, solar panels and an energy centre to supply some of the heat and power, resulting in lower utility bills with homes achieving a minimum Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 offering low heating, power and water consumption.
East City Point is a Housing Design Award winning development, which once complete, will provide 649 much needed new homes. The Atrium Building is a new landmark for Canning Town, which has £3.7 billion regeneration plans in place, including the rejuvenated Rathbone Market and Canning Town’s new Hallsville Quarter, which will offer a number of high street retailers, and leisure facilities.
East City Point is well placed for commuting across the capital. Canning Town station is a under one mile away, from where the Jubilee line runs to Canary Wharf in five minutes and central London in 15 minutes. The DLR also stops at Canning Town station with its new extension linking to Stratford International Station for local services, as well as Eurostar services to Paris, Brussels and beyond. Transport links across London will be further improved with the arrival of Crossrail at nearby Custom House station which will connect you to the West End in under 14 minutes as of 2018.
