Description of Great Eastern Building

Great Eastern Building is a development in Hackney, London E8.

The development comprises 14 shared ownership and four private sale homes.

The shared ownership homes, designed by Karakusevic Carson Architects, will be made up of five 1-bedroom apartments, seven two-bedroom, and two three-bedroom, and will be managed by Hackney Homes and marketed when built to local residents.

The development will also include 114m2 of space for offices and shops.

The site is a former railway office between Reading Lane and Wilton Way with the railway embankment to the east. It was transferred to the Council in 1965.

Great Eastern Buildings site is part of the Council's borough-wide 2,760-home estate regeneration programme, which is one of London's largest schemes for building homes for social renting, shared ownership, and private sale.

2016 - all plots sold. The development was marketed by Currell.
