Description of York Terrace East
1-18 York Terrace East is a Grade I listed terrace overlooking the Regent's Park in London NW1.
A part of John Nash’s Regent’s Park Crown Estate Development built between 1821-6.
The buildings were last in use as student accommodation, a private school for 3-8 year olds and a rotary club.
June 2018 - Planning permission and listed building consent was granted for the use of buildings as 21 new dwellings; removal and replacement of roof, floors, non-original stairs; retention of all facades and spine walls; excavation of an additional basement beneath existing buildings and extending underneath the rear gardens facing Regents Park. This was subject to a legal agreement to secure the provision off 44 affordable units at Chesterfield Lodge as the off site affordable housing. Westminster Council ref. no. 17/06973/FULL.
