46-48 Blackfriars Road is a new 14-storey building incorporating two hotels comprising 182 x 4* and 295 x 2*. Four-star Novotel is facing Blackfriars Road and the two-star IBIS hotel is to the rear.

The 182 bedroom, four-star Novotel, located at 46-49 Blackfriars Road, comprises of twelve business suites, six meeting rooms (approximately 250 square metres of conference space), bar, restaurant and full leisure facilities, including swimming pool. The 295 room, budget Ibis hotel will offer its guests bar and restaurant facilities, including 24 hour snack and drink service.

Site in close proximately to the existing stretch of cultural riverside along the south Bank of the River Thames which include, The Tate Modern Oxo Tower and The Globe Theatre, whilst also being convenient to Midtown and The City.

Blackfriars and Waterloo Mainline Stations and Southwark underground station are only minutes way.

The development was due for completion in advance of the London Olympic Games in 2012 but was completed by the main contractor in October 2012.

McAleer & Rushe has completed an innovative twin hotel scheme by London’s happening South Bank, at 46-49 Blackfriars Road, Southwark, for Accor Hotels.

The scheme which was forward funded by CommerzReal AG comprises a four-star Novotel with a two-star IBIS hotel to the rear.

Work began on the 14-storey, Consarc-designed scheme in November 2010. It is located just 100m from Southwark tube station it is convenient to London’s riverside attractions of the Tate Modern and the Globe Theatre.

Novotel London Blackfriars includes 182 rooms, 12 business suites, six meeting rooms, a bar and restaurant and a full range of leisure facilities including a basement swimming pool. The new generation Novotel, is now open with lots of hi-tech gadgets to keep guests entertained, including restaurant tables fitted with televisions for lone diners and a multimedia table with iPads.

“It’s our best Novotel to date and represents the new generation of Novotels that we want to offer in the United Kingdom,” said Thomas Dubaere, Accor’s managing director for the UK and Ireland.

The IBIS London Blackfriars has 297 bedrooms and is served by a bar and restaurant.
